Swollen Shut: Angry Drunks equal Great Entertainment
So since it’s inception, I have been a faithful watcher of MTV’s Real World/Road Rules challenges. Those of you “in-the-know” know that this show has everything you could ask for in entertainment, hotties, drama, heated competition, drinking and inevitably fights. Last night’s episode did not disappoint!
Every season you can count on at least one physical brawl and for those of you who don’t know, the one and only rule on the show is NO FIGHTING. Whether your attacked or not, if you throw a 
punch, your gone IMMEDIATELY.
Enter last night’s episode.
RW/RR Challenge has the basic concept of elimination reality with all contestants working their way to the finale and a large sum of money. The reason RW/RR is so amazing in my eyes, is because the producers manage to up the ante each season by changing the intricacies of the elimination possibilities (and providing abundant amounts of liquid courage), thus adding to the tension and scheming by all involved. As the show winds down to the finale, it was clear last night that the contestants were far beyond their psychological breaking points with arguments popping up everywhere you looked.
The one that made my day was between Brad and Darrell. I have never really been a fan of Brad, he has been quite a jerk since he was on The Real World, but lately had seemed to grow up and calm down. Unfortunately with his team dwindling and backed into a corner, Brad turned to the bottle to numb the pain and the old Brad returned.
Clearly wasted, Brad began flexing and clapping and all the stuff typical of someone who is not truly tough, all the while attempting to call out what appeared to be a sober Darrell. At first Darrell resisted and let Brad continue to verbally assault him and as usual the rest of the cast sat around and watched until it was too late. Eventually Brad shoved Darrell and it was on. Seconds later tough-talking Brad was on the floor being pummeled like the bitch I believe he is, by a significantly smaller Darrell. As expected they were both kicked off the show immediately.
The sad part here is, while it is great to see tough-talking frauds get their ass whooped, Darrell is an idiot because he forfeited his 30k plus bank account and a free ride to the finale(for possibly even more money), to beat the living crap out of someone we all know is a puss already. Further, Darrell, if not completely sober, was sober enough to know that Brad was blitz and should have resisted the urge to pummel him if only to get the chance to collect his money. Even gayer (sorry homosexuals, I still can’t resist using the word sometimes) they are friends and were talking about how they didn’t mean for things to get so out of hand after.
In the end, I guess they both went home losers, but damn Brad, you talked all that smack and now look at you… Let this be a lesson to all of you frauds, all of you liquid courage tough-talkers and all of you angry drunks. I’ve always said that someone will eventually pull your card and you will learn a valuable lesson. Brad, not only did you look like an idiot, but now you go home looking out of one eye… hilarious… Good reality tv, never needs to be scripted…
