Do we need another Hero?
DJ Hero has arrived and initial reactions and reviews look promising.
I have not been able to try this bad boy out yet but it definitely has my attention. I have been waiting to see a review or hear input from someone with a DJ’ing background. If the game holds the same appeal as it’s big brother Guitar Hero it will be quite entertaining, but the question I have here is how much is it really like actual Dj’ing?
Many would argue that Guitar Hero is not like playing a real guitar, but coming from someone who loves both, I would beg to differ. While it may not be as complicated as rocking out on a 7-string electric guitar, the harder levels in the game have the same basic fundamentals as playing a real guitar: muscle memory, finger strength and overall beat consistency (and determination).
This is why I believe Guitar Hero is a great game and why I need to know if it shares the fundamentals of actual DJ’ing or simply developed its own interpretation of what DJ’s do. In either case, after watching the demo presentation (below), this game looks to be a Thumb Sweller.
