Couple’s Retreat: UK Racism???
So it has come to our attention that the people behind promotion of Couple’s Retreat, photoshopped out the black couple from the movie posters in the UK. The statement given by a Universal spokesperson was something to the effect that it simplifies the poster to actors more well known internationally or some bullshit like that… We say THUMBS DOWN Universal… According to some statistics somewhere, movies featuring black actors often struggle internationally at the box office, but does that make this a reasonable move?
The fact is the movie is about FOUR couples NOT three and any jackass with a half a brain can see that this has racism spelled out all over it… Universal, this is so not cool..

It’s seems quite clear to us, that the black couple is obviously a supporting role, but what does it say about the country and the company if they believe that two very small pictures of black people in a movie poster are going to effect sales of tickets… FUCK YOU UNIVERSAL AND FOR THAT MATTER UK… I thought you guys overseas were beyond this…

They took the black couple out in US ads too. I remember when it first came out that the black couple was deleted on some signs in the subway stations. I was thinking how f**k up these advertisers are.
btw…good catch by Luvness in regards to the huts. I never noticed that the huts were deleted too! Hollywood is straight evil, we need more brothers like Tyler Perry to build studios.
